SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS
Satellite systems have been used for communication for
many years.The world's first communications satellite,Early bird,
was launched in 1965.Since then,hundreds of communications
satellites have been orbited for various purposes.
In the 1970's geosynchronous satellites were successfully launched
in Canada,which has greatly benefited from satellite communications
because of it's large area and the low population density-an
environment seemingly made for this medium of communications.
